So as many of you know we not only had my dad in the hospital this past weekend we also had Drew's mom in with pneumonia. I had gone up on Friday night to see her and dropped the kids off with my sister in-law, Lori. I told the kids I was going to see Grandma Jillene because she was really sick in the hospital. Sunday night we decided to sneak the kids into ICU to go and see my dad. We are walking into the hospital and Lena said "Can we see Grandma too?" I turned to her and told her that grandma was gone. She stopped in her tracks threw her hands to her side and looked me square in the eyes with complete anger and said "Grandma is DEAD?" It was a nobody told me sort of question. At first I thought my 2 1/2 just said what? Then I burst out laughing. She would not walk or move until we explained to her that Grandma wasn't dead she was just better and able to go home. She had to ask me again if grandma was ok before she would continue to go inside. She makes me laugh, or scream EVERYDAY!!!!!
1. Drew's work bought him a truck and wanted him to find a shell for the back of it to protect all his tools. Drew came home with the shell on the back and pulled it into the garage. Robert came out to talk to his dad and said ... "WOW dad I didn't know your truck was a transformer and could transform from a truck to a VAN!!! That is AWESOME!"
2. The other night Lena had a sleep over at her Aunt Jeana's and so in desperation to get Robert to sleep before 12:00 we took him for a ride into town to get ice cream. (car rides always do it for him especially with a tummy full of ice cream). We are getting in the car and Roberts says "You should never tell a girl she is fat, even if she is fat." I asked him where he had heard this and he replied "from Chowder's Dad." I have no idea who chowder is and how Robert knows his dad. Drew could see the puzzled look at me and told me that it is a cartoon. So I guess there is education on TV!

We are exhausted today from a late night of phone calls from the hospital and no sleep from worry. My dad was taken into the hospital last night for signs of a heart attack. He was admitted into ICU and they are pumping him with blood because he keeps losing it from somewhere and they can't figure out where. They are doing tests today to check for internal bleeding or a bleeding ulcer. His blood sugar was through the roof and blood pressure was no better. He is on a nitroglycerin drip, insulin shots, and having blood transfusions. I would really appreciate everyone putting a prayer in for my dad!!!
UPDATE 8/15
I just talked to my dad and he sounds much better today but still not a solution in sight. They can't go in and do the test to see where he is bleeding until they figure out what is going on with his heart. They confirmed that he did have a heart attack and has two blockages in his heart. He is waiting to hear from the specialist to see what they are going to do next. It is possible that they will not be able to do the procedure here and will have to send him to a different hospital. Thanks to everyone for giving your prayers and support.

We were pleasantly surprised when Lori, Shay, and Britan came over to our house for a visit. I just couldn't resist getting out my camera and taking a dozen pictures of him!! He didn't really love it. Once the flash woke him you can see that he was pulling some pretty nasty faces at his Aunt Rae!! I didn't post the pictures that I took after I made him cry (they made me feel a little cruel). He is so darling and reminds me a lot of my Robert when he was a baby. You can definitely tell they are related. I would have to say that the Hale gene is pretty dominant. I just can't believe that he is already a month old. Where does all the time go?

Happy Birthday Lindthy!!!! We hope you have a great day and a great year to follow. We sure have had a lot of fun lately and who ever would have guessed Thomas and Drew being as good of friends as we are?! Just at a time when Drew really could use a good friend! Thanks guys for being our friends and loving our kids! They ask about you all the time. The other day Lena wanted to know if Lindsay could come over and color with her, it was so dang cute! So anytime you are in the mode for a good coloring session with Lena come on over she is always up for it.

Amie called the other day and wanted everyone to get together at the Park with the kids and let them hang out again for one more time before school life got into full swing. The kids really enjoyed it and loved seeing all the animals. Of course Trevon, Robert and Adam had to send us on a hunt for them as usual. Maybe we should have just put them into one of the cages with the animals. HA HA HAGrandma Jillene even joined us for a walk around the park. All the grand daughters found themselves at her side! They sure do love their grandma!!
